MEET THE DIRECTORS

 

TT, MEd

TT, short for Teacher Teacher, was given that pseudonym by her students. Trained at an Ivy League, she has a MEd (Master’s of Education) Degree in English Instruction from Columbia University (and a Bachelor’s Degree from UCSB) and a passion for helping students discover their own curiosity for learning. Her style of teaching involves a lot of laughter, and tons of fun learning activities.

TT has over seven years of teaching experience, most recently teaching at Stuyvesant High School in the city of New York before becoming the head of Curriculum Development here at Ivy League.

Elissa Liu, MBA

Elissa is a Los Angeles native who attended UCSB for her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minors in both Educational Studies and Applied Psychology. After graduating at the age of 20, she went on to get her MBA at the University of Southern California, graduating with distinctions as the youngest MBA in her graduating class.

She is determined to help each child push the boundaries of their potential to achieve their dreams. Her business mindset, coupled with her background in Psychology creates a results-driven yet process-oriented learning environment for our students.

 

ABOUT OUR TEAM

Our team is made up of passionate and driven educators, eager to make a difference in guiding our next generation. Our teachers have degrees from some of the most prestigious universities in the nation, such as the Ivy Leagues (Harvard, Stanford and Columbia), as well as the UC’s (UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSB). Oh, and they have teaching credentials and/or masters degrees. We recruit only the best!

Each of our teachers (and TA’s) is devoted to creating a positive and fun learning environment for our young learners. Our students’ mental wellness and academic progress is our priority! With regular training in child development and psychology, our team is trained in the latest research and best proven educational methods. You can trust that your child is in good hands when they’re learning with us!

IVY Spotlight: Meet some of our teachers!

Derek Liu, MD

Derek graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Bioenginering, and matriculated at USC Keck for his Medical Doctor Degree. He has a passion for helping students achieve their STEM career dreams and is a college admissions counselor at Ivy League.

Allan Han

Allan Han is currently a MEd (Master’s Degree in Education) candidate at NYU, in the city of New York. He is a writer and educator with over six years of teaching experience in K-12 students fundamental English, fundamental Math, SAT writing, and high school literature.

Yaen Chen

Yaen is a research scientist and PhD student at UCSF who graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience. She teaches Writing and Science at Ivy, and is also a college admissions counselor.

Ashley Zhang

Ashley is currently a MEd (Master’s Degree in Education) candidate at Columbia University. She graduated from UC Davis and has a passion for teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She teaches English and Math at Ivy League.
